The end draws near!

I can hardly believe that the end of the year is drawing to a close. The Christmas period is fast approaching us, and i cant believe how quickly the year will be over. The boys are looking forward to christmas, and I have to say that i am looking forward to some time off in february. We have had a very busy year, and an eventful one. My last craft class is this thursday and I will miss it for a while. I will probably do it again some time in january, but for now, we will just wait and see what is suitable for everyone.
Have made some awesome christmas cards and cant wait to start sending them out to all the family and friends, hoping that they wll love them..... bummer that there is no post office in murrumbateman anymore, as it makes posting stuff alot harder at this time of year.
I think thats it for a while, it has been ages since i have been on, and i know i am really slack, Angus has just woken up and insists on drawing on everything on the computer table, so i had better go.

Have been feeling blah now for about a week, and dont quite know the cause. Went to the doctor on monday afternoon and had vials of blood taken on tuesday morning. Am heading back to the doctor tomorrow afternoon, and hopefully will have some answers as to why i feel like shit.

Windy!

The Wind here has been so strong for the last 2-3 days and nights. I am hoping it dies down soon, as i am sooo tired from not being able to sleep.
Am waiting patiently for our stampin up delivery... was hopingit would be here today in time for the craft day tomorrow, but no joy. I am putting my money on friday, after everyone has gone home!
Zak is back at school and loving it! He got an award yesterday, not for great reading, or listening, or good writing, nothing like that. It was for his AWESOME DANCE MOVES!!!!! now i KNOW he didnt get those from his father!

My Boys are home after almost a week away with their grandparents. They had a great time being spoilt rotten, and now they (unfortunately for them) are back to reality. They enjoyed themselves so much, did lots of fun stuff, and just generally were pampered!
While they were away, I had my girls night in, and also my stampin up party. It was great fun, lots of alcohol drunk, and also lots of stuff made. Cant wait to get the box of goodies that we all ordered. Going to have so much fun with the new stuff!!!!!!!
Will post some pics of the stuff i make with the new things, and also a pic of all the things that we ordered before i divide it all up into orders. We were gluttons!

Can't wait!

I am so looking forward to saturday!!! It is my girls night and also the stampin up party! I have my list of orders that is sooo huge!!! All I can say is that I am lucky that Chris has gotten his tax return back, and I am all set! Am soo excited, Kimberley is coming, and I have so missed her company. I have known her for 18 years now , (although that is hard to admit!) and we have seen each other through some pretty dramatic shit!
The boys are all heading away on saturday morning up to Orange after a stop at mums for Janika's first birthday party.
We had my brother, his wife and my nephew Hamish here for dinner on saturday night. The weather was still pretty crap, but they came anyway, and we had roast beef...mmm..... not as good as roast pork, but still good, as well as some very low-fat (not) raspberry cheesecake! yum yum!
I am going for my facial today, 1 hour of pampering!!!! Only slight setback is that I must take Zak with me. He has a new book, and will hopefully be a goood little man for me, a bribery lunch of mc donalds has been promised for good behaviour.

weekend is here

The weekend is here, and this usually involves saturday morning swimming lessons for the two rascals, But since this morning was windy, raining and freezing, We decided to skip it. I dont want the kids catching a cold with the weather changing so dramatically so frequently.
Angus has a bit of a cold anyway, and his nose seems to be running like a tap some times during the day..... I dont want it worse. He is having his nap now, and thank goodness is still sleeping. The rain has hit again and the wind is still ferocious. Driving hard freezing cold rain is not good for anyone.
Tonight my brother and his wife, and their little boy are heading over to our place for dinner... Roast beef....mmmm.... cant hardly wait! I havent seen my nephew since he was 5 days old leaving the hospital after he was born. He is about 8 weeks old now...

Bliss!

My first week of holidays has come to a close, and, after a visit to floriade yesterday, I am feeling quite content. I am glad that we got some rain this week, even if we did get huge hail with it. The boys are healthy and We are all alive.

Zak is on school holidays next week, so we have plans to go to the movies on monday morning, lunch with a friend, visiting more friends in the afternoon, and then swimming intensive program in the evening. Zak is looking forward to having to not go to school, I think he is a bit worn out.

I took this pic yesterday at Floriade. Angus and I went with mum, and even though it was windy, it wasnt too cold. The flowers were all a bit dirty looking from the rain, but still quite pretty. Angus got a new jumper, which he didnt want to take off for ages!

Zak is on a school excursion today to see Aladdin at Belconnen High. He was so looking forward to it when he left this morning.

Thats about it from us. Cant wait for craft class on thursday next week, its a free day so anything goes, and cant wait to see the results!

Hail Stones

Yesterday afternoon we had a rather almighty hail storm. It lasted for about 15 minutes, and started out with the regular size little hail stones, and graduallly got to really big ones. I grabbed some from the ground (risking life and limb) to show the boys when they got home. I have taken alot of pics of the boys with them , And have posted the one of Angus holding two of them. They were amazing, the noise phenomenal and the coverage awesome! it looked like everything had turned white!
The weather today is still shitty, windy, rainy and cold, but hey, thats spring isnt it! Hope all the trees we planted last weekend are all right, but we cant check on them until the rain and wind stops. We had over an inch of rain yesterday, and today doesn't look much drier. Good day for scrapping. Wonder if we will still go to floriade tomorrow?

HOLIDAYS!!!!

Well, I have to say that I am really enjoying my holidays. On monday I went out for lunch with some lovely friends, and also caught up with some more friends for morning tea. It was a very busy day, But definately enjoyable! Today, however, I have done my workout in the gym, and am now going to have a day to myself to do nothing at all!!! well, maybe something! I am going to try to get some more cross stitch done, and also some more scrapping. Maybe read some of my new book, and otherwise, maybe a nanna nap in the afternoon!

Tomorrow I am going down to the beauty spa for a facial, and then not much else either! Next week will be a bit different though. Zak will be on school holidays and we are going to the movies on monday and then to lunch with a very dear friend.

the ppics were taken last weekend, the boys were out flying their kites, and having a great time. Such beautiful weather on saturday and sunday.

Cards

Spring

I am so undeniably glad that spring has arrived. Today was such a lovely day, even if it did start out at -2C.Last weekend we readied the vegie gardens for planting again, and it was fun. They look ready and I am busting to plant, but I have to wait until next weekend. Cant wait for all our home grown veges again this year.

Tomorrow i have the card craft class again, and we are making an Off the Page Hanging frame. I know ill be using mine for fathers day on sunday. It is always great fun to have friends over and make stuff. Cant wait. Ill try to take some piccys again of the finished products.

The piccy is of our view from the back at sunset last week I think. It was not the best sunset, but came up pretty fantastic on the pics I was using my new tripod and experimenting. Had heaps of fun.

What a weekend!!!!

Well, I got a night off for annual leave, and we decided to go to Chirs's parents place in orange, since I am usually not able to go because of work. Chris took friday off, picked Zak up from school on thursday afternoon, and we headed off just after 4:15pm. We decided to stop and get them Mc Donalds as a treat on the way at Yass instead of waiting til cowra, and It was definately a blessing. We came across a rather major car accident about 15 kms from boorowa. A car towing a caravan had gone into a tree and there were three injured people. Needless to say if you know my profession, that I was obliged to stop and help out, and ended up being there for two hours. The kids had to stay in the car with Chris and wait for me. Chris said they were great, the enjoyed seeing the rescue helicopter land, and the flashing lights and sirens of the police, Fire and ambulances. I am still a little traumatised by what I saw, but I guess it will be a bit easier in time.
On the lighter side, I had a lovely thursday morning with the girls making cards and playing with an embossing machine. I have never used one before and was quite taken with it. I managed to make quite a few christmas cards, and had heaps of fun. Cant wait til the girls weekend in october.... Going to be heaps and heaps of fun. Ill be having a stampin up party then too, which will make the fun doubled.
The boys are great, growing like weeds, Angus seems to have shot up about 4 inches in a week, and has grown out of most of his winter stuff. Good thing for me that spring and summer aren't too far away, since no shops have winter stock anymore. Too bad if it is still -2C in the mornings.
Thatsa bout it so far, when I get some pics from the weekend uploaded, ill put them on.

Its been a while!

I know its been a while since I have been on here! A few updates are called for , I think!
Chris's Grandfather died at the end of july, and so we were a little bit busy with those goings on, and a trip to orange. Trying to get stuff done around the place while the sun was shining and the wind wasnt blowing also took a bit of time! I think we almost have the vege patch ready to go for spring, all we need now is the manure to dig in and we will get some of that next weekend.
The boys are growing fast, and becoming (mostly) lovely little men, Angus still has some trying moments, but it is getting a bit better each day.. should I write that or will I now jinx myself?
I am having a card class next week, and we are making christmas cards. I would upload some examples, but my computer is having a blonde moment and wont work properly. Ill try again tomorrow....

the Clocks

We made the clocks yesterday, and I think we all did a great job. I will add some pics of the ones the girls made with their permission. We had a great time, and all got stuck into it and finished with time to spare! good work girls! I am waiting for the long weekend girls night in to do some other fun things and drinkl ALOT of wine!

It all starts at midday and goes until sunday morning. Cant wait! will be awesome!

Next fortnight is christmas cards, I know its early, but i LOVE to be organised!

He Has Arrived!!!!

Well, I have a new nephew!!! yeah! He Arrived on 21 july with a little drama, but all is ok... His name is Hamish Clywdd and he is quite a bit cute!!!! Thats about it for that!

Still waiting....

Am still waiting for y new niece or nephew to arrive, cant believe that they still arent here yet. My brother is soo excited, I texted him this morning, and he almost jumped through the phone with excitement. He has been waiting a long time for this, and I hope all goes well.
On another note, I am looking forward to doing the clocks next week with the girls, I think they are all excited, and I am soooo excited myself to do another. I am really happy with my last attempt, and so am now about to start on the christmas presents. One for the inlaws and one for my parents.
My big boy comes home tomorrow, Its been 12 days that he has been away for now, and I cant wait for him to get back. He has been indulged in his every whim by his grandparents and his Aunty Tash, and now he gets to come back to reality..... mmmm...... not sure how he will handle it, Angus has had mixed feelings about his absence. He has missed his big brother, but on the other hand, having mummy and daddy all to himself for the last 12 days has been a pretty good deal, and I dont think he wants that to stop. He will be beside himself with excitement though when big brother steps out of the car door tomorrow around 11am.

Time is ticking by, and I am busily waiting on the arrival of my newest niece or nephew..... will it be a vera or a hamish..... baby was due about 3 days ago, so i am waiting, waiting, waiting.... I want to make it something special from its favourite aunt, but need to wait for the colour scheme.... waiting.... waiting..... waiting.....

Its getting cold!

Sometimes there are benefits to working permanent night duty.... you get the free run on the highway cos everyone else is going to work when you are coming home, Nights are a bit more relaxed, etc, but one thing I really dont like about nights is the going outside in the morning when it is minus 4C..... yes. Freezing. So cold you can almost feel your toes get ready to fall off on the walk from the building to the parking lot.... frozen fingers that are so cold they take about 1/2 hour to get any feeling back in them. mmm.... somtimes i contemplate switching to days, but then, I wouldnt be able to work with sich wonderful people. Some things are worth compromising for.

A Long Day

It has been a week since I last posted, But , gee has it been a long one. Finished my holidays a day early so I can attend a conference on wednesday, and I cant believe it is tuesday already. Last day of the financial year, so have to remember to find all the receipts and get the tax done early this year. We usually struggle with that one.
I found a book today that is called Angus in a tangle. Of course I bought it for Angus!!!! He will be home shortly and I hope he likes it. I also bought Zak a new one too, although it isnt called Zak anything!!!!!!
We are all waiting with excitement for the birth of our newest niece or nephew. My sister-in-law is due any day now, and we are slightly excited. This is the first of my parents 6 grandkids that we havent found out prior to the birth which sex it would be. Is this a sign of the times? We found out with both our boys, and I am very glad we did, but my brother and his wife have chosen to keep it a secret. I admire their decision, I was busting to know and to be able to pick their names so i could call them their own name as soon as they were born. Angus still had to wait a while, although his big brother had decided that he was going to be called Angus long before his parents had, and so went to daycare and told all and sundry that his little brothers name was Angus. He loves to tell people he chose his brother's name.
Well, need to go and cook the rice for dinner, I ahve chosen to be the best mummy in the entire world and make my 5 year olds favourite dinner...... Curried sausages! He is going to love me tonight, dinner and a new book... I think i excelled myself this time.

Last day to myself....

Today is the last day I have to myself.... officially my holidays are over and i am on days off...
I have a few plans for today, Including trying to sew a new nappy for my son.... now if you knew me, you would be aware that i cant sew, my grandmother used to make clothes professionally in the early century, so she would die if she could see my sewing, all i can say is that it is great sewing for scrapbooking.... Anyway, I am going to attempt to make one any way. Then I am off to the hairdresser for a cut and foils. Cant wait. The i am back home to sit and watch a movie as it will be the last one for many months, until my holiday in october...
Will post a pic of my nappy if it turns out any good.

A day to myself.....

I am currently enjoying a solitary cup of coffee without interruptions......
nice.
It is a rarity around these parts.
I get to drink it while its hot..... not half cold. Ah, the simple things.....
I am also getting to do some scrapbooking too, and card making, which is nice, also without having to worry who is going to come around and pick up bits and pieces that they are not supposed to... I am going to be able to leave it all out when i go and have lunch......Yeah!

Holidays!!!!

How Awesome are holidays????
well, today I start my one weeks holidays.... not alot, but I am very glad to have it. I Was soo looking forward to it, and then i had to get off work late today after having to attend an emergency C/S at 7:30am. well, technically I was there from 6am, but baby didnt come until 7:30am. Sometimes i really dont like prems. today was a good day though, grumpy obstetrician, but my registrar was really nice.
Anyway, do I have plans for my holiday? not really, except shoe shopping, dentist and reading a few good books. Maybe I will have the chance to do some scrapping or card making too. Am hoping Chris feels better tomorrow so i can attend a scrap session. Anyway, God Bless Holidays. Have a good week.

Apparently no news is good news

We had the phone call again today to see if Zak was still taking his medication, and of course he is. We were told he was welcome to come back to school tomorrow. I asked if we had his results yet, and was told that they would have called us if he was positive. A phone call either way would have been nice I think, as we have all been sitting here in quatantine since last wednesday just in case. Not happy ACT health!
He is going back to school tomorrow, I am back at work tonight, and eveything will be back to normal, only wish that they could have bothered to tell us one way or the other. Who knows if they missed us with a phone call or if everything IS alright.
Anyway, I believe it is all fine, so yeah for Zak.

Waiting on Results

Well, A big couple of days for us. I was woken up on wednesday afternooon after only about 3 hours sleep to be told that Zak had come into contact with a probable swine flu case and needed to be checked out ASAP and start on Tami-flu. Well, Shit! he is only 5! I was quite a bit upset, and worried, as you can imagine being dead tired and woken to this type of news. I phoned Chris at work to go and get him from school and take him to the clinic. He was there about 2 hours, and came home with tami-flu and supposed to be in home quarantine. I dont quite get it, but he is the only one in our family at this moment, who needs to be quarantined, and until his results come through, the rest of us are fine to go about our business. mmm.... a bit strange I think. So, firstly we get told his results will be through on thursday afternoon, I call at 5to 5pm, only to be told that they are not available yet. I get a call after 5pm yesterday to make sure he is still taking his medication, but his results still arent available. Apparently someone will call us when his results come through, and I am allowed to go to work with the premmie babies with an under-developed immune system until we find out! Not quite sure I would be happy about that If it were my babies in there, but that is what I have been told by infection control.

Anyway, some pics i took yesterday whilst we were home on quarantine, the boys are fine. Zak is loving his unscheduled days off....

A long weekend?

Who Says its a long weekend? I dont get one! I guess thats the joys of nursing, hey? Night shift and no long weekends.....
I hope everyone else enjoys theirs, but i may just have to take a whole week of at the end of the month to make up for the lack of long weekends in my life... mmm.....

Thursday Scrapping/Card making

Well, This thursday I though we would do something different in Thursday Scrapping. I thought I would help everyone to make about 5 cards of their choice. I have added some pics of them, I have made them not too difficult as we have some newbies in the group. I had alot of fun making these today, and am about to go and make some more. It is nice having the boys away, but i do miss them as well...... tough choice.

Long weekend, and hope everyone is having a nice time... for those of us that get one that is... I am back at work on sunday night for my 3 regular shifts. One of these days I am going to have a regular 9-5 job and get public holidays off like everyone else.....

another week over!

Well, Work is finished for me until sunday night! thank Heavens! Such a busy week, sick babies and all.
It is raining which is fine, and makes it easy to sleep, just hope we get heaps as the tank is a bit on the lower side, and would like to get it full.
Scrapping last thursday was fantastic, we had a great time, with some newbies here, and some oldies too. So many different pages created, but unfortunately everyone took theirs home before I could take pics of them... Ah, well. Next time perhaps.
Feeling very tired at the mo, dont quite know what is up, but i hope it passes quickly. Maybe I am just working too hard and not enough sleep. The boys are great now, all better,and that is a blessing! Joshua's baby is due in about 5 weeks now, and we are all really excited. He is beside himself too, He has been waiting for a long time for this.
Will try to get some pics up soon, jsu getting the energy right now is a bit of a struggle.

Excitement!

I am having my fornightly scrap tomorrow, and we are going to attempt Maria's blind scrap from the cyber crop i did last fortnight. It was awesome, and i am really happy with my outcome. Have done another page of miss Lucy, and was happy with that one too. I have posted it here. May be i will make this a blind scrap for an up and coming scrap thursday.

Our house is back to being healthy. Thanks goodness for that! The boys are having alot of fun outside these days before it gets far too cold... not that they notice it anyway!

when does it go?

Well, I am still sick and heading off to CALMS tonight at 8pm. Wish I would just get over it! have spent the day in bed leaving the kids with hubby. Supposed to work tonight but cant with this bug. Hopefully another night of rest and I will be fine for tomorrow night. Anyway, It is off to bed for me, maybe tomorrow I will be a bit better and be able to post more blog posts.

the sickness comes to our house!

I managed to wake up on tuesday afternoon before work with an almighty sore throat and almost unable to talk. It was quite difficult to ring in sick when the person on the other end of the phone can almost not hear you! Anyway, I am starting to mend now, but i noticed this morning, that my DS#1 is coming down with a cough and a runny nose... mmm.... i can see a few days off school coming up!
Going to do my blind challenge with some friends either tomorrow or next week, cant wait!
It will be great to see what they come up with, and if they look anything alike!

I Did It!

Well, i completed my first cyber blind scrap challenge, it was quite interesting. I am happy wiht how it turned out, although I am not a pink girl at all, having just boys and all, But lucky for me some friends have gorgeous daughters, and so i scrapped Lucy. Hope Mel likes it.
Tonight mum and I are going out for dinner to celebrate mothers day.... yes I am aware we are a week late, but with Chris being sick in the house last weekend, I couldnt get away. Anyway, I am excited that it will just be mum and me.
Back to work tomorrow night, I will be dropping in to Sharyns to drop off some clothes for her new little man.... Cantwait to find out his name so i can get cracking stitching it on his new blanket.....

A first for everything

Well, I am about to attend my first cyber crop, and am a bit nervous. Not exactly sure what to expect, but am really looking forward to it. The kids have been right little b#@*s today, and i am badly in need of some time out. I will post my outcome when its done. Otherwise, all is just as it was yesterday, not much has changed, the weekend is here and i am looking forward to some time with the family, hopefully a good sleep will cure the kids... and maybe mummy too!!!

Wow! where do start?

Well, here goes. I tried this blogging stuff once before, and I didnt do very well. I am a busy girl, with two kids and a full time job. I love to scrapbook and read (like i have much of a chance to do either!) when i have a few minutes. I am a pretty simple scrapper, but like to do it all the same. I would love to improve my scrapbooking, but never seem to get time to do much. Every second thursday I try to have some friends over and we do some pages, it seems to be going well so far.

My boys are 5 and 2 and are the light in my life. They have their moments, dont get me wrong, they are certainly not angels by any stretch of the imagination, but they are pretty great kids. I am lucky enough to have a husband that I adore, and a lovely home to raise our family. i ahve put on some of my pages that I have recently completed. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

I will try to update as frequently as I can, esp. with pics of my boys.
